Adopt a School Program

The goal of the Adopt-A-School Program is to develop a closer bond between
police officers and the elementary school age children of our community.
The Adopt-A-School Program matches an officer with a  school in the Town
of Yarmouth. There are six (6) officers who volunteered to work with the schools.
The officers follow a curriculum designed to work hand in hand with the school
teachers, under the guidance of the school principals. The officers  teach
various safety related classes once a month.

The assigned officers will maintain their regular working shift with the Department working nights and
weekends, etc. but they will frequently check in with their schools and walk the halls, have lunch
with the students and att
end other school functions. The officers act as a liaison between the school,
the teachers, the parents and most importantly, the students.

The Yarmouth Police Department is very proud of the success of the program and the dedication
of the officers involved.
