Detective Sgt. Kevin Lennon supervises all aspects of the
division and works closely with Criminal and Drug
Investigations. Sgt. Lennon started with the Yarmouth Police
in 1993 and was promoted to the Sergeant in 2001.
In addition to his duties in Detectives, Sgt. Lennon is an
instructor in the use of less lethal munitions, Tasers,
Patrol Response to Active Shooter Incidents, Low light
shooting techniques and High risk motor vehicle stops. Sgt.
Lennon is an instructor for the Cape Cod Regional Law
Enforcement Council and the Municipal Police Training
Committee.
Sgt. Lennon is also the a member of the Cape Cod Regional
Law Enforcement Council SWAT team and he is currently
assigned the position of Team Leader.
Detective Charles Peterson has been with the Yarmouth Police Department since
1979. He has worked as a patrol officer, a K-9 handler and
for he has been assigned to the Detective Division since
1993. Detective Peterson is in charge of drug investigations
for the department and works as a member of a joint
Barnstable and Yarmouth Police Department drug unit. He has
also worked 4 separate assignments with the DEA regional
task force. Det. Peterson is a Federal Law Enforcement
Training Center certified instructor providing training for
the Mass Police Training Council, The Yarmouth Police
Departments and the Mass Police Institute.
Detective Russell Giammarco is a 31 year veteran of the Yarmouth
Police Department and has been assigned to the Detective
Division for the past 12 years. Detective Giammarco is one
of the highest decorated member of the police department,
and is presently the lead investigator for all Sexual
Assault cases. He works very closely with the Barnstable
County District Attorneys Office and the Children’s Cove in
resolving those cases in hopes of a positive conclusion.
Detective Giammarco also works a variety of other
investigation involving homicide, drugs, robbery, burglary
and white collar crimes.
He is highly trained and certified in many aspects of
criminal investigations and interrogations. These skills
allow him the ability to, not only solve crimes, but secure
confessions on many of those cases.
Detective Stephen Renzi is a 10 year veteran of the
department and has been assigned to the Detective Division
since 2006. Detective Renzi is a former member of the Cape
Cod Regional Law Enforcement Council SWAT Team with
experience in numerous high-risk tactical operations. In
2005, Detective Renzi completed a successful temporary
assignment to the DEA’s Cape Cod Drug Task Force.
